Cool WordPress 6.8 contribution stats, revisited.

WordPress 6.8 « Cecil » was released last week.

I had the pleasure to handle the Triage Lead role in the compact and experienced release squad that led this new major version of WordPress.

As Triage Lead, I ran all the Core Trac bug scrubs of the release.
I also:

Worked on a bunch of tickets, and received 215 props on WordPress 6.8
Made 103 commits to branch 6.8 as a Core Committer, and gave props to hundreds of people
Was appointed as Committer role for each beta and RC release parties, which means:
- Attending each release party
- Update WP version for each beta or RC
- Update WP version and a few specific files for the final release, and tag the release
Contributed to various shadow tasks, like:
- Reviewing announcements on Make/Core or w.org/news
- Contributing to dev notes and to the Field Guide
- Cleaning props to make sure everyone who contributed to « Cecil » is credited at the end

Some people probably noticed that I love to publish stats about each release on this blog. But this time, I’m not going to publish a handful of my classic bubble charts.

First, some other people in the community beat me on this by publishing a very similar post to what I published for previous releases (and thanks to them for working on this). Secondarily because Hey, let’s innovate and compile all these old boring circle packing graphs into just two charts with a nice design. Let’s go ahead and try to make something beautiful this time!
